Five Products To Get That Glow
We're definitely past the mid-Summer point, and heading towards Autumn now - I know I'm not the only one guilty of looking forward to jumpers and hot chocolate! For me, these last few weeks of Summer are all about the healthy, glowing look I always hope I'll have managed to achieve after months of sun. The weather may not always be on my side, but I've got five products to share today that certainly are, and I know I can rely on them to get me one step closer to that beachy glow I dream of.
The Budget Gem - L'Oreal Lumi Magique
I picked this up after reading multiple raves, and I have not regretted it one bit. Billed as a primer, I usually use one pump of this pearly cream mixed in with my foundation for a perfect luminous finish. I know I'll be repurchasing when this runs out, as it can turn any day into a glowing skin day.
The Bronze Glow- Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick
My first Shimmer Brick was purchased in Macy's in 2005, when I was 15 and on a school trip to NYC, armed with a fistful of dollars and dreams of JLo's complexion. I've never been without one since, which tells you how I feel about this cult favourite. It's just so handy, and can be used swirled together or as individual eyeshadow/highlight shades (the lightest is fantastic for opening up that inner corner). There's some gorgeous shades available, though my favourite is the classic Bronze.
The High-End Dupe - MeMeMe Beat the Blues Highlighter
I received this dupe for Benefit High Beam in a Glossybox, and have been really loving dotting it along my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose with the little brush in the lid, before blending out with my Real Techniques buffing brush. The finish is a pearly sheen that isn't too frosty, which goes really nicely with the L'Oreal Lumi Maqigue, and I just love it under bronzer. I have the shade Pearl Pink, but the other shade, Oyster Gold, looks champagne-y and right up my street, so is sitting on my beauty wishlist.
The Highlighting Hero - Watt's Up
Here's one I know I'll repurchase when it finally becomes nothing but a stump. This is my dream highlighter, champagne gold and glowy to the max, in an easy-to-use stick form. I swipe this anywhere I want to achieve that softly-lit look, namely the cheekbones, nose bridge, cupids bow and brow bones, and as with the MeMeMe, blend with a buffing brush (I ignore the weird sponge thing on the end). This is such a firm favourite of mine, and worth every single penny.
The Luxury Splurge - Hourglass Ambient Lighting Trio
How could I not mention the palette so beautiful I lost my actual senses in Space N.K. just looking at it? No regrets here, even with the price tag, as it's true love. I've waxed lyrical on it's magical properties here, so I won't go on again, but honestly, these powders are worth the hype.

I have the mini of Watt's Up and it is such a gorgeous colour! I usually go for pink rather than champagne toned highlighters but it is so lovely.

It's really nice, a dead ringer for High Beam. x
ReplyDeleteThat Hourglass palette needs to be bought by me. I keep on having doubts about it but I think it's about time to jump to the bandwagon. Xx
ReplyDeleteDon't you already have a couple of the powders though? I do think the palette is worth having, it looks so beautiful, and having three of the powders together is really convenient. xx
ReplyDeleteI have the Dim Light and I really love it. Xx

It's so useful as well, it can be a bronze-y blush, a highlighter, an eyeshadow - plus it has a big mirror inside...I love it! x
