Review: Timothy Han Wild Rose Candle

I'm quite surprised at myself for only being on my second ever candle review since starting this blog over a month ago, as I am a bit of a candle hoarder. I just think a candle changes the whole room, making it feel instantly more relaxing and adding a touch of luxury. I love reading reviews of candles, so will definitely start writing a few more.

Having seen my review of their Tobacco and Jasmine candle here (which I loved), Timothy Han were concerned about the fact that my candle had tunnelled. They commented on the review, sharing some top tips for preventing tunnelling, as well as offering to replace my candle. I opted to try out the Wild Rose scent this time, and it arrived within a couple of days, looking stunning in their signature teal box. I do love the style of this brand's packaging, it's a nice change from white (which I usually go for), whilst still being simple and classic.

The scent of this candle is really beautiful. I am obsessed with rose-scented products anyway, so I was pretty much guaranteed to love it, but it has really warm notes like clove and nutmeg, which makes it feel cosy, and ever-so-slightly spicy rather than sickly-sweet. It's perfect for the rubbish weather we are having at the minute, as it has lots of warmth, without feeling like a Winter/Christmas scent; I have been using it of an evening in my bedroom, when it's time for a warm drink and a book.

As per Timothy's instructions, I ensured that my candle was on a level and draught-free surface before lighting it, and ensured that the top layer of wax was entirely melted (forming what is called a melt-pool) before I extinguished it the first time. A few uses later, and the candle is burning nice and evenly. I don't remember whether I let a melt-pool form the first time I used my Tobacco and Jasmine candle, but if I didn't that may have been the problem. If I did, maybe it was a fluke, and just bad luck - these things do happen. All I know is that I am very much enjoying both of my candles, and have put their Lemongrass, Marjoram and Lavender candle on my wishlist.

Available here (£38).

    1. I'd never heard of this brand until I received one of their candles as a gift, but from what I have tried they are great! I'd definitely recommend them for a bit of a treat, or as a present, especially as they do some unusual scents. x
