I think that if you are here, reading this blog, it's highly unlikely that you need me to tell you who Tanya Burr is. One of the first Youtubers I ever watched (and one of the few that I watch with any regularity - I'm more of a blog-reader), Tanya's incredible success is an inspiration to lots of bloggers, and I felt very excited and proud for her when I was able to pop a few items from her new line into my FeelUnique basket.
Despite the fact that I ordered pretty much within the hour of the launch, I only just received these a couple of days ago, so I am super keen to finally be able to share them with you. I allowed myself two lip glosses and two nail polishes, and the polishes will be featured here tomorrow. I am slightly embarrassed to admit that only one item was chosen based on the actual colour; the other three were picked on shade name alone.
The packaging of the glosses feels good-quality, and the little hearts on the top of the lids are a typically girly Tanya-ish touch. Her personality really comes through with this line, especially with the cute shade names. The doe-foot applicator is a great shape, and really hugs the lips, depositing the right amount of product. Both shades I bought are really pigmented and incredibly glossy, without feeling overly sticky on the lips. They also have a strong scent, which is very sweet and fruity - strawberry I think - which I initially found a bit off-putting, but once the gloss is on, the scent fades away, and is not overpowering as I had feared.
Aurora was picked purely due to its princessy name; I'm easily swayed by anything Disney-related! This rosy pink shade has a shimmery finish, and is a really wearable everyday shade. It's the sort of gloss I could keep in my handbag, as I could put it on at any time really, without having to think too much about it. It is also sheer enough to wear over a pink lipstick, if you wanted to. Vampire Kiss (the only shade I bought because of its shade!) is totally different; a bright, blood red, with an ultra-shiny shimmer-free finish, this one is far bolder. You really wouldn't need any lipstick under this to get a strong look, as it is very pigmented. I realised, much to my surprise, when browsing the shades that I didn't currently have a properly red gloss, and this has filled the gap in my collection nicely.
Did you get any of the lipglosses from Tanya Burr's line? Were you as heavily influenced by the names as I was? Don't forget to check back tomorrow to see which nail polishes I bought!

ReplyDeleteIt's really nice, I'm glad I managed to pick at least one shade based on colour! x
DeleteI haven't got around to ordering any yet, as soon as I heard one was called Aurora I knew I'd need that one no matter what it looked like, like yourself purely for the name :) I'm still trying to decide which other colour to order as I want to get 2, there'd does sound like a good option as I don't own a red gloss either.

Haha yes, a Disney-lover like you would definitely understand why I immediately put that one in the basket! I would definitely recommend Vampire Kiss, but if that's not your thin, from what I have seen on other blogs Picnic on the Park looks nice (but another pink, so maybe you wouldn't get that and Aurora), as do Chic and Exotic Island, which I was so put off by on the website as it looked really purple, but from swatches I have seen it is more pinky. xx
Deletebtw I've nominated you for the Liebster award, details are on my latest blog post :)
