The packaging is cute, and although the bottle is smaller than I imagined (22ml), I have found that a little goes a long way and I expect this tube to last a while. The formula itself is a clear, silica-based gel, which is easily smoothed over the skin.
I don't really have a big problem with overly-visible pores, but the little ones on my nose definitely seem to just get blurred out when I apply a little of this, and my skin looks matte and smooth. It provides a lovely canvas for my foundation (side note: this can apparently be used as a stand alone product, but I don't tend to go foundation-free when I wear make up), although I can't say I have noticed it lasting any longer than usual.
Overall, it may not be the best primer I have ever used, but for the price (£7.99 at Boots), I think it's a real little gem. After all, we all love a your-skin-but-better bargain.
I really need to try this -- have been seeing it everywhere! Lovely little blog honey :) I see you're new but keep at it, you write really well! I'm following on bloglovin :) xx
ReplyDeleteI think it's definitely worth a try, especially for the price!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you! You're my first follower :) x
I've just got my hands on this too and I have to say that whilst I like it and it feels lovely on my skin I haven't noticed a huge difference. It doesn't work nearly as well as porefessional by benefit, the best primer I've ever used by far. I don't love the cheap feel of the packaging either but as you said, for it's price it is quite a good product. Nice review, love your blog xx
ReplyDeleteI have never tried Porefessional, but I'm really tempted to give it a go now, as I've heard it's similar to this, but as you've said, better! Thanks for nice feedback, it's a bit scary starting out! xx
DeleteThanks so much for checking out my blog, really appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteI've been debating whether or not to purchase this item too, there seems to be such a hype about these products! Sounds like a great little piece though from your review
Now following on Bloglovin, would love it if you could follow back

I have followed you :) Yes it is really nice, I'm not sure it's totally worth the hype (there has been SO much!), but for the price, I think it's worth a try.
DeleteYour blog is lovely, and I think I am going to have to try this primer out! x
ReplyDeleteThank you! I definitely think it's worth a try, and if you don't love it, at least you won't have wasted too much money! x
DeleteLovely review, I really want to get into using a primer more often, so I may have to pick this up next time I go to Boots.

Well I will keep an eye on your blog in case you review it, I've really enjoyed the reviews of this one, they've been such a mixed bag! x
DeleteI definitely need to try this.
ReplyDeleteMy skin is oily so make up never lasts, the only primer that does anything is the Benefit POREfessional one. If this can do the same job it would save me £££ :D
Juyey xx
A lot of people are saying it is similar, but not quite as good as POREfessional, but I think it is definitely worth a try if you are a fan of silicone-based primers. x
DeleteI tried this, and my skin got so oily! I don't know if I like it or not....
ReplyDeleteThanks for sending me your link yesterday during #bbloggers chat! You have a really great blog! Cannot wait to see more! ♥b

That's so strange as it had the total opposite effect on me, I found it really mattifying. However, since writing this I have tried POREfessional, and annoyingly it really is better. I now want the full-sized POREfessional quite badly, but ugh, it's so much more expensive! x
