Elemis Skincare

During the Summer I was lucky enough to receive an hour-long Elemis facial at a spa, and I have to say, it was absolutely amazing. I was so relaxed I very nearly fell asleep, and afterwards my skin was looking pretty good. The best bit though, was that it just kept looking and feeling better and better over the next 24 hours, and by the next day I was positively glowing. I popped back down to the spa to ask them which product was responsible, and was directed towards the infamous Papaya Enzyme Peel.

Over the following months, I built up a little collection of Elemis treats, and these are my favourites.

Papaya Enzyme Peel

I don't think there's much I can say about this lovely product that hasn't been said already, but I think it's always nice to hear about other people's experiences. If you haven't come across it before, the Papaya Enzyme Peel is described as a non-granular exfoliating cream, which means that although it is a facial exfoliator, it is totally smooth, and you use it more like a mask than a cream.

It has a beautiful refreshing scent, that is not at all overpowering in its fruitiness. I tend to find that after I wash it off (after 15 minutes) my skin feels really soft and smooth. If I do this before bed however, the next day my skin looks noticeably brighter.

I think it is an ideal treat for dull-looking skin, especially if you aren't keen on the scratchier types of exfoliator. I can't really comment on whether it is a good anti-ageing product, as that doesn't really apply to my skin (yet!).

Frangipani Monoi Body Oil

This little beauty is from Elemis' Spa at Home range, and came to me highly recommended from my Nana! The small bottle is really going a long way, so don't be put off by it, although it is available in larger sizes.

The oil is solid in its lovely glass bottle, and so the bottle needs to be popped into some hot water to melt it down. I find that it's easiest to just put it in the bath with me for a few minutes so that it's ready for when I get out.

The scent is floral, but in an exotic, sophisticated, rather than girly, way. I find that the oil just sinks into my skin so quickly, which is great because I dislike oils that leave me with any kind of stickiness. It's also a treat on cuticles, and I have heard it can work wonders on hair, although I am yet to try that.

Pro-radiance Illuminating Flash Balm

I really like this. Described as a "hybrid moisturiser" by Elemis, it claims to flatter the skin as well as hydrate it.

It feels lovely and rich, though is not at all heavy, and again, this is a product that sinks into the skin really nicely. I think that my skin looks lovely and bright, and feels really soft when I use this balm. My complexion just seems to look more even, and so it makes a great base for make-up, instead of using a primer. I've found myself using it every morning to protect my skin during these cold months, and I do think it has had an effect.

Pro-radiance Hand and Nail Cream
Another product from the Pro-radiance line, I've been keeping a large bottle of this in my bedside drawer and putting it on before bed. It is lasting ages, as you really don't need to use loads.

It is quite a thick, lightly frangranced cream, that does need more rubbing in than other Elemis products. However, I find this to be the case with most hand creams, and don't mind this, as I like to really work hand creams into my cuticles. This cream is very hydrating, and so has again, been a real winter saviour for my skin.

I'm always on the look-out for a new product to try, so let me know if there's a great Elemis product I need in my collection!
